|Body Positive||Counseling and Consultation||This educational and support group focuses on holistic wellness for women of larger body sizes, including women with a diagnosis of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and/or Insulin Resistance (IR).
Personal goal-setting will be utilized in multiple areas of wellness including mindful eating, nutrition guidelines, physical activity, and other wellness-oriented topics. While weight management may be discussed, the focus of this group is holistic wellness, and it is not a weight-loss group. The group will also provide a safe environment for wom¬en of size and support for addressing emotional and social wellness issues such as self-esteem, self-judgment, body image, distress management, self-care, relationship concerns, and barriers to lifestyle changes. Guest speakers, such as registered dietitians, exercise physiologists, yoga instructors, or personal trainers may also present at some groups throughout the semester.

|Cervical Cancer Screening & Diagnosis||The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute||Cancer screening exams can help find cervical cancer at its earliest stage when the chances for successful treatment, optimal outcomes and fewer side effects are greatest. These tests are usually done when a patient is healthy and has no specific symptoms.
Not only are expert cancer researchers at the OSUCCC – James continually working to detect and diagnose cervical cancer early, but they are also developing additional tests to detect and diagnose cancer even earlier, leading to improved outcomes, faster responses and fewer side effects.
|Colorful Women||Counseling and Consultation||The Colorful Women groups are designed for a diverse array of women that identify as women of color and desire a supportive and unifying therapeutic forum in which to share experiences while developing life affirming strategies from the collective. Towards that end, personal growth, scholarship, and interpersonal connection serve as overarching goals for the group with a variety of themes capturing the group's process. Common themes include, but are not limited to, the following: empowerment, interpersonal relationships, academic adjustment and achievement, advocacy, identity development, stress management and health practices, trauma and resilience. |Eating Disorder Treatment Team (EDT)||Counseling and Consultation||Eating disorders are complicated medical and psychological issues that affect a wide range of individuals. At the Ohio State University, the Office of Student Life is invested in supporting those students who may be struggling with eating disorder concerns in order to positively impact overall wellness and assist them in achieving their life goals.
The Office of Student Life's Counseling and Consultation Service (CCS), Student Health Services, and the Student Wellness Center collaborate together to form the Eating Disorder Treatment Team (EDT). This group is a multidisciplinary team consisting of mental health professionals, physicians, and nutritionists who collaborate to provide appropriate assessment, intervention, and support to students on Ohio State's campus who are struggling with eating disorder concerns
|Journeys to Eating Disorder Recovery||Counseling and Consultation||Working toward recovery from an eating disorder or distorted body image can often feel like a journey. This therapy group is intended to help students who are on this journey by providing a safe, supportive environment in which to talk about themes important for recovery. This includes understanding how issues related to self-esteem, body image, confidence, emotions, relationships, authenticity, and managing distress connect to, and affect, one’s relationship with food. Connecting with others in the group can be a powerful part of change and healing. |SAFE Group||Counseling and Consultation||Strong Able Females Expressing is a group for undergraduate women who are primarily interested in working on their interpersonal skills. These women will discuss issues of self-esteem, assertiveness, and empowerment while gaining support from one another and the group leaders. Members may also discuss their issues w/ mild symptoms of anxiety or mild depressive symptoms. Sexual Violence Support Coordinators use a Holistic Healing Model to provide individualized, long-term, and direct services to students who have experienced sexual violence in any form before or during their attendance at the university. Our goal is to promote both academic success and personal growth through empowerment coaching using a trauma informed victim-centered approach.
Sexual violence prevention programs and student involvement opportunities SCE also offers programs designed to challenge cultural attitudes and beliefs regarding sexuality that lend to the prevalence of sexual violence in our community. Students may request a program or get involved in sexual violence prevention efforts on campus by joining our Sexual Violence Committee or by becoming a certified program facilitator. |Student Life Career Counseling and Support Services Group Offerings||CCSS||Our unit, Student Life Career Counseling and Support Services provides career counseling and career consultation assistance to students from any rank and/or college. We provide workshops (typically for targeted audiences) on a variety of topics and have often presented on topics such as salary negotiating for women.
In addition to workshops over the years we have occasionally offered a group - i.e. graduate women's career support group. Group offerings rely on student interest and if we get enough members to run an ongoing group.
|Surviving to Thriving||Counseling and Consultation||This group is designed to provide a supportive and safe environment for women who have experienced sexual assault or abuse as an adult. This group will provide participants the opportunity to share experiences, connect with others, and receive support in regaining a greater sense of control and empowerment in their lives.
